Build a Baby Project for Childbirth Classes

I have been teaching childbirth classes for several years now and this is one of my favorite projects to do with my childbirth class students! It is a great visualization of what is happening on the inside as we grow and birth our babies.

Growing and birthing babies is simultaneously simple and complex. Every day and extraordinary. Trusting that our bodies know how to grow a baby helps to trust that birthing is most of the time straight-forward too.

When I was pregnant and birthing my babies, I found it empowering and reassuring to know what my body was doing and to be able to visualize the work being done.

For this project, you will need

a paper baby

blue and red yarn

sponges

4 gallon trash bags

duct tape

scissors
